Waterbuck mother and calf

Meet the Waterbuck, a critter that’s easy to identify due to its unique posterior.  Waterbucks are named after both their need to live near a constant source of water as well as their tendency to take shelter in a body of water when predators are lurking nearby.  While they feed on grasses, they also like to hang out in more forested or shaded areas than most of the African grazers.
