warthog running

If warthogs look silly when they stand around, they look even sillier when they run.  They’re not exactly streamlined, their beefy torsos are not built for speed, their short legs ensure they don’t cover much ground with each step…but the funniest thing (to me) is that they have a habit of sticking their wiry tails straight out behind them when they run.

Despite their ungainly bodies, it’s amazing how quickly they can cover ground.  Also amazing is how little grass cover is necessary for them to all but disappear.

In the above image, I managed to make that warthog appear almost graceful…don’t ask me how!
