giraffe above foliage

Sometimes, no matter how hard it tries, a giraffe is just…too…tall to hide behind a tree.  Their bodies may be well-concealed by the foliage, but look up…up…UP and you’ll see those giant horned heads sticking up into the sky.  They look regal, gentle (don’t be fooled, they’re large and powerful animals!) and even–to me, at least–a bit silly.

Note to the giraffes:  when you eat ALL the leaves from the tops of the trees, you make yourselves more visible.

If you look closely, you may be able to spot some green leaf residue on this giraffe’s face.  It was busy chowing down just a moment before I took this shot.
