red camelia

This lone camellia blossom had a perfect backdrop in front of which to shine.   Its dark green leaves and vibrant red blossoms really pop in front of this brick wall, painted black.  There was no way I could ignore this little plant’s determination to grow and bloom in a patch of dirt not much bigger than a dinner plate during a very cold April in Amsterdam.  That’s gumption!
