I just got back from a two-week road trip through the American Northwest, including Northern California, Oregon, Washington, and Idaho.  One of the best things about the timing of this trip (last week of May and first week of June) was seeing all the rhododendrons blooming in the western parts of Northern California, Oregon and Washington.  I never realized what amazing varieties of colors there are.  Today I’m featuring pink.

Some plants were so covered with blossoms that hardly any leaves were visible, like the ones above and below.

Dark green evergreens (like rhodies, a staple of the Pacific Northwest) made for a dramatic backdrop for the bush in the image below.

So many beautiful blossoms, it was hard to focus on just one.  But I managed.

  1. gorgeous, love it! 🙂

    • Thank you. The flowers were stunning and so fun to shoot. I’m definitely going to try to get back up to the Northwest at this same time next year!
